Vocabulary Learner - Dutch for English Speakers
© Daniel McBrearty 2002
What it does.
- Each list consists of about 50 or so words or phrases.
- When you start learning a list, about 10 are selected at random (the "pool").
- Then one of these is picked at random, and you are asked to give the Dutch word.
- Your answer is checked. Once you have answered correctly three times, you are considered to have learned that word, it is thrown out of the pool, and an unlearned phrase replaces it. (BUT if you answer wrongly, you have to answer three more times correctly!)
- And so on until you have learned them all.
The lists
They're quite varied. Some are just simple words and phrases, some contain some more advanced grammatical constructs. There may be a bit of repetition, and a few mistakes - let me know at the forum (link is on the main page).
That's it! I hope this helps you.
